Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Our Transitional Kindergarten program is designed to nurture the developmental needs of our youngest learners. With a curated blend of play-based, social-emotional learning focus, students engage in hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Centers like the Art Studio, Block Zone, and Science Discovery Center support critical thinking and foundational skills while fostering a love for learning.

A Day in TK

Morning Meeting and Community Building:

We start each day with circle time to foster a sense of belonging, teach cooperation, and build social awareness.

Play-Based Learning Centers:

Students will rotate through engaging stations like:

  • Dramatic Play Area: Enhancing empathy and language skills through imaginative role play.

  • Block/Construction Zone: Encouraging spatial awareness and early mathematical thinking as students design and build.

  • Art Studio: Nurturing creativity and fine motor skills through self-expression.

  • Science/Discovery Center: Promoting critical thinking as students investigate and explore.

  • Library/Listening Area: Supporting early literacy and self-regulation through quiet reading and listening activities.

  • Math Manipulatives: Supporting students in their early understanding of numbers.

Outdoor Play and Exploration:

Physical activity and nature-based learning connect gross motor development with curiosity and teamwork.

SEL Focus Activities: Through storytelling, games, and discussions, students will learn to identify emotions, resolve conflicts, and develop problem-solving skills.
